Hey everybody, you people here really seem to know what you guys are talking about. I'm thinking about starting a project of my own and what I'd like to do is modifications of the engine of the car that I buy and a complete interior customization. What I wanted to ask of you guys is what car would be best to buy to do this type of work (a decent used car that has a good engine that I can maybe supercharge for example). This will be a daily driving car so I'm not interested in hot rods and the like. Thanx.

You can find them cheap. Try throwing in a small block chevy or a cadillac northstar or a 3800 supercharged. I built a 3800 powered open aired roadster. For some ideas try www.fiero.nl and v8archie.com

And for the ignorant - No. my car never caught on fire and fieros don't catch on fire more than any other car ever built.

Try finding an early 90's 300zx turbo. Put larger turbo, racing waste gate, adjustible boost, larger intercooler,re chip it, etc. You should be able to do all that or find a good one with all that completed for around what you are wanting to spend or less. Try twinturbo.net I think thats the right website. They have some nice high hp Z's for sale sometimes. Hope that helps.
