One of the greatest things learning martial art is to have a training partner with you. Like Jimmy and Doug, I had a training partner while learning Krav Maga in Netanya, Israel. Prior to my Krav Maga training, I got a call from a kid name Luna, he has no place to stay while in training and wonder if he can live in my room in Tel Aviv. It was a totally random call from a stranger. I figure if we going to train together why not live together, there is space in my apartment.
This kid Luna turned out to be a young ex US Marine ( a Hollywood Marine ) studying in Yashiva ( religious school ) in Jerusalem wants to get some exercises after long Torah study. For the rest of month we would get up 6: 30 in the morning aking train to Netanya and train for the rest of the day. We would do everything together for the rest of 30 days. We beat the crap out of each other ( be honest usually is he beat the crap out of me ), eat lunches, passed out from muscle fatigue. He helped me a lot on boxing skill.
Although, I was in the army and he was a Marine; we still build a really strong bound Small things like checking up hot female soldiers, and just the idea having a pal with you in a foreign land made me really glad I said yes that fateful day. I lost contact with him after I come back to Canada. I kicked myself everyday for not adding him on facebook at the time. It just seems unnecessary while we lived together. He is one person I truly missed while living in Israel.
Jimmy and Doug I can understand you twos’ unique bound and hopefully you two already add each other on facebook, because sometimes cellphone just stop working.
