I live in Kerala, India for a while now. Frequently, giant crab spiders visit my home, the largest was a male, 15 cm large (diameter). Once I could even watch how they brush their feet, looks cute... My neighbours told horrible stories of their painful bites, and swollen (humanlimbs, so I'm not really comfortable with the giant crab in the same house. How can I catch these incredibly fast! spiders, without hurting them, or getting bitten? Or convince them to leave ? I don't like to kill the animals. Thanks for any hints !
spiders hate mint. so if you can get mint extract and it isn't too expensive(i personally find that it's not worth the money for mint extract to chase off arachnids i like to watch.) but as i said mint extract, put it on a cotton ball. leave it where they like to go the most and they will leave that room. now it get's expensive because you have to do this in every room you don't want spiders.
My temporary residence is Florida (hate it here)and my backyard is a conservation area. It seems to be a breeding ground for almost every insect on the planet! And just like you, I won't kill an insect (nor an animal nor a plant)without cause. PURE AUSTRALIAN TEA TREE OIL repels insects. It's expensive so, mix 50% water with 50% of the oil in a spray bottle. Just spray it on the ground and insects won't get near it.
