I recently watched the Cheetah episode. During this story, a female cheetah with three cubs is injured by a Wildebeest when she is driven by hunger to attack the larger animal.
In doing so, she suffers an injury. The narrator says something like "since this cheetah cannot run she can't hunt, and will likely die of starvation, along with her cubs"
I was deeply moved and saddened by this part of the episode. Yes, I realize that it's an inevitable part of the natural cycle, but I couldn't help but think since the filmmakers were witness to this, wasn't there something they could do?
I do understand that documentary makers are not supposed to interfere with the lives of the animals, but in this case, if the female cheetah were treated and healed it would save not one but four of these creatures.
Is there any chance that intervention did occur? Or did the filmmakers just walk away?
