There was a news article on AOL about a colony of Nile Monitors being found in the Cape Coral area (near Ft Meyers), it said that the colony could number as many as 1,000 and probably started from someone's pregnant pet that was turned loose and that the scientists are trying to figure out how to handle the problem. Not only are they a danger to local wildlife, one lady saw one take a goldfish from her pond!
Anyone from that area? what's the scoop??
