I agree 100%. Not only is his voice annoying and the lines very poorly written, he's also quite insulting. He keeps saying things like "don't try this at home. Yes that means you." Seriously, do we need to be reminded every 2 seconds? I really don't like being called stupid and that's what the narrator is implying what the audience is.
I like the show but fix the narrator. Heck, Have one of the guys who know what they are talking about narrate the show.
Also, (unrelated to the narrator but still bugs me) this show is not mythbusters; please stop treating it like it is. This show has a great concept, don't ruin it.
Yes I totally agree. For som reason instead of the actual slow-motion clip we get to see moer of Jeff's(narrator) not-at-all funny antics. None of the comments on the slow-motion clip are scientific.
Mythbusters are the best. Mike from dirty Job is the best funny person. Either of them can and should replace the narrator.
The narrator is actually what drew me to the show. He's funny. I don't think there is too much writing involved with this show anyway.
I think if you take any of the narrators away you loose the camera's too.
Be more thankful with what they're doing and not so speculative. If you guys are such expert critics then I would like to see a script that one of you put together, then I would critique it.
I agree that the narrator is absolutely terrible in this show. I think if you could get someone like Mike Rowe to narate, your ratings would soar. Mike Rowe is the man! However, if that isnt feasible, at least replace the current guy, hit attempts at humor are complete fail! His voice for tv causes sleepiness.
it's not his voice, it's everything he says ! he doesn't say anything about the science of whatever their doing, he just throws in ridiculus comments that really don't need to be stated!

Just agreeing with the overall opinion of the narrator: CORNY CORNY C-O-R-N-Y!!!!! Is it his fault, or the writer's? Don't know, don't care...the show is cool enough on it's own merit; we don't need the dorkiness of the cheesy commentary. I don't necessarily mind the actual narrator per se, but I can't believe he thinks the dialogue that dribbles out of his mouth is anyway appealing. Shame on him for hamming it up, instead of challenging the writer's "work", who coincidentally, should be strung up by their thumbs. That way they wouldn't be able to hold a pen to paper and write the dorky crap that they do.

I agree completely with everything said sofar about that narrator, and while we're discussing his poor habits, I have a complaint of my own.
Being a former national champion of the USA National Karate Federation annual tournament, I really didn't appreciate when the narrator said that martial artists are people who confuse spirituality with masochism. Well-trained martial artists know how to concentrate on the affect, not the pain, so we can ignore it easily. Confusing someone who can ignore pain with a masochist, someone who likes to feel pain, is an insult to our honor.
I also agree with the poster who said that there is no need to say "Don't try this at home" every few seconds. You have a disclaimer in the beginning, which is legally enough that if anyone does try something at home, you cannot be sued for it. There's no need to overdo things...
not gonna lie, the narrorator is not the best i have heard. get someone with a deeper voice, or get the narrorator from mythbusters, he is great! no offense...
I can't stand this narrator either. He comes across as cocky and arrogant. I'm not certain if it's him that's got to go or the writers, but something has got to give or they will start losing viewers, or at least they are gonna lose me. I can't listen to half an hour of some condescending jerk making unfunny jokes about trying this at home. I start channel surfing when he gets too bad.
I agree, I would prefer, that instead of a narrator, they use an expert for whatever they are doing to explain what is happening. Not every show on discovery needs a narrator in the backround...
The "don't try this at home" jokes get old real fast, and for the most part the jokes are lame.
On the odd occasion they give the narrator something funny to say. The "musical chairs gone wrong" comment made me laugh on the stunt men episode.
Overall I don't have a problem with the narrator, just ease up on the corny jokes. If a joke doesn't make you smile the second time you've heard it, it's a flop.
I realize I'm essentially just repeating what everyone else is saying,
BUT HERE'S ONE MORE PERSON SAYING IT:
Narrator must go.
The show is great, very interesting and really cool to watch most of the time. I particularly loved the grease fires and the water droplets.
But that narrator...
It's EMBARRASSING when a person walks into the room and sees me watching something with such an obnoxious person talking but unfortunately, I do love watching the things you guys warp.

I love the narrator! Wow, everyone here is being rude. And to Forehead, what an idiotic response..you rather be caught watching Porn? Porn is a horrible vice that ruins relationships, families, and aids in the confusion of what is reality, and blurs the line of lust and love. What a disgusting thing to say.
There's nothing wrong with the narrator. He's so funny and has my husband and I laughing through out the whole episodes. His voice is unique and entertaining. I don't have a problem with the 'corny' jokes. The narrator, to me, adds a lot to the show! Don't do away with him.
It seems that some of you had something crawl up in the drain system and die in there. I guess that would account for your miserable attitudes and overall negativity.

Funny how you're the only one that likes the narrator.
Also you're the only person I've ever seen on an internet message board to condemn pornography. You sound like a very conservative mom- exactly the kind of person that would appreciate corny narrator jokes and wouldn't take offense to hardly anything, much less an annoying voice-over.
Then you accuse everyone else of being negative and having "miserable attitudes" just for critiquing one aspect of a show. I think it's YOU that needs to go crawl up in a drain system and die.
Hey Discovery- here's one more viewer expressing the same complaint- THE NARRATOR MUST GO!
Ok, someone said that Jeff is the narrator, he's not. Atleast that's what I got from that post. And secondly, dude...he's a narrator for MANY MANY MANY shows...mythbusters including...JEEZ if you don't like him don't watch the show. I think he's funny, he makes me laugh on several occasions, sure its not HILARIOUS stuff but it makes you giggle. And it's also not his fault. So live with it or don't watch the show.
surprise, surprise- another person on discovery forums responding to COMPLAINTS with "if you don't like it, don't watch." No feedback is allowed unless it's "good job!". You're allowed to be a cheerleader- or get out of the stadium.
Then Mommy says: "First time for everything, honey. I think for myself, I don't let others tell me what's acceptable, normal and/or cool, you goon."
Ooh, wow. You're such an individual! There's no suppressing your free spirit, oh enlightened one. The rest of us are mindless saps, swallowing anything "the man" tells us to- but not you. You're a beautiful and unique snowflake- That's why you go on message boards and put people down, starting arguments you can't win just because we don't like the narrator and you do. Or maybe you just want to disagree. You just want to start a fight by pretending to like the narrator everyone hates, condemning porn as immoral, doing anything you can to flaunt your perceived individuality, which you wear as some pathetic badge of honor.
Actually Robert Lee is the narrator for Mythbusters, Mechjaw. You should check your facts before you blurt out your predisposition for annoying narrators.
Eric Boardman is the narrator for Time Warp, and has done four other unknown and very bad documentaries. I have no idea why they chose this guy and actually think that this show could do better without the narrator.
And why should we stop watching the show if the narrator is horrible? Most tv's have a 'mute' button, which becomes slightly overused when watching time warp. Also, ignoring the narrator is also possible, altough blood pressure and annoyance level usually accompany this strategy.
Here's my way of viewing time warp: "Let see that again, but now: in slow motion." Duh. "And remember: " *mute*
Even if he sometimes comes up with some scientific fact, it is usually explained better or correctly a few seconds before or after muting, by one of the experts. Those two guys may seem somewhat bland comepared to mythbusters, but they are highly specialized and know exactly how to slow events down.
However, why one of them has a death wish, I do not know.
And... yet another viewer with the same complaint! Discovery should be able to recognize a pattern here by now.
