What happened between the 2008 and 2009 season? Did someone say "Hey! I got a brilliant idea. Lets recreate Ripley's and That's Incredible, toss in a few seconds of high speed video and we'll have another hit season. Cause that's what happened except the "hit season" part. You kept the same dry hosts, clearly the same blondish hairy weird dude (you see the same guy peeking his head in all the time), the fat over the hill bald camera guy (also pops in the shot a lot) and I'm guessing the same director who misses the good stuff (I'm assuming he misses it or it's just not there to begin with. And the cheesy scripted voice over guy.
WHAT HAPPENED DISCOVERY? NO ONE at HELM?
The show was okay, never great but it could have been. The very first special was really neat and a good portion of season one was visually interesting. Jeff was clearly a miscast. He doesn't connect with the viewer and Matt, who tries to be funny, and hits the punch line now and then, always seems a little unsure of himself as a on screen talent. I have no doubt he knows the camera stuff. Why he's attached himself to this parody is beyond me.
I'm begging you on behalf of Discovery viewers everywhere who tried to tune in before Mythbusters. Is this the best you have to offer cause I tried to watch almost every week and eventually gave up. It was that badand life is just too short.
personally, I do belive that the first season was better. and the series isn't perfect, but i have my own slow motion camera and I know that you run out of good ideas quickly. also, after seeing so much in slow motion, you probably get tired of it because eventualy you can expect what the slowed down footage will look like. and durring the episodes, you can find them slowing down random stuff that has no purpose to the show (other than possible killing time) like pushing the needle through that guys cheek (is that spelled right?) so yes, they are imperfect, but its still an interesting show. at least thats what i think
