I am a bagpipe player. I play with the Knoxville Pipes and Drums. I have always wanted to see a reed being played and the vibrations it would show. The pipes have to be one of the loudest unamplified instruments and the reed must produce a wave of visual effects. Also, I read a great article once, that the pipes were the only single keyed instruments to be able to produce 5th harmonics. To do this the drone reeds and chanter reed must be matched perfectly. I wonder if you could visually see the frequency match between the reeds.
