Danny obviously has impressive educational and professional credentials, but in his shows, he chooses to be "Everyman", and, to my mind, makes the subject of engineering (not my usual cup of tea) very entertaining AND educational too. Danny uses a whole gambit of emotions - amazement, fear, etc. to humanize the material.

BTW- my favorite EE show is the one on the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers rebuilding the levies in New Orleans.

I just laughed when he screamed like a little girl after getting hit by a paintball....c'mon now, they don't hurt THAT much....

that is the reason why people say danny is annoying, whiny, and crying.......

Danny is a great host. You guys that want a more serious show with a narrator should just keep watching Extreme Engineering. This is a different show. What would be the point of re-formatting it so that it's indistiguishable from EE?

You must be kidding, or smoking some heavy stuff. Danny is a total jerk, he would not last a hour on my crew. I'm totally suprised he has a job this long, maybe daddy or uncle gave him his job. Cause he sure as heck does not know anything, except trying to be cute. And he has failed miserably in that department too.

This is NOT a different show. EE got an (annoying) host and was renamed Build It Bigger. They ruined EE.

I liked Danny in EE (which could be dry as crap,without him) and except for the roller coaster show,(those iron workers were awful) I like him in BIB.

Don't you guys get it? He's a regular guy, (who happens to be an architect)doing stuff that most of us will never have a chance to do...and holding his own.You wouldn't get me to climb to the top of that crane in Shanghai. My husband said he wouldn't either and he worked in construction! Danny did it and was proud of himself...that came through.

He was never touted as an "expert", and I can't wait to see when he runs all the construction equipment this week! He's letting us participate in experiences through him. Yeah, he whines...and screams like a girl, but he's funny and his energy translates through the camera. And for crying out tears, he bought his grandma a Mah Jong set!!! I hope he stays!

Danny is an excellent host! He is genuinely pleasurable with his geeky, yet sociable, approach. I particularly like the idea of him being “just a guy” and not the typically overtly intense and macho-ridden male television personality.
