As the subject implies, I don't usually go for technical shows. Most of the time when my dad puts something on about building stuff, or about metal, or airplanes, or ships, or, well....a great deal many things like the above, I run out of the room. But, I really, really, really enjoy Build It Bigger. And ya know why? It's because of Danny! I really, really....REALLY like Danny! I think the makers of Build It Bigger were brilliant in getting him as host. He's got a fantastic sense of humor, and he's really just naturally funny, so it takes a show about building things, and about metal, or ships, or airplanes, or whatever, and Danny gives it a humorous twist. I can't remember the last time I watched a technical show that was funny. Build It Bigger is the one technical show that I get mad at my dad for watching without me. And again, it's because of Danny. Quite frankly, if they boot him as host, I won't be watching anymore. He just gives it a really nice flavor that makes people like me (the technically-challenged, not-so-brilliant) more apt to watch it. Like I said, he's funny, and he's willing to laugh at himself, and he's not afraid to get his hands dirty, and if he messes up, he just laughs it off, and tries again. He's young and fresh, and so gives the show a young and fresh feel. So yeah.....my $0.02, DANNY NEEDS TO STAY! He's all of the above, and he's danged cute too! LOL! That is all, this rant is officially over. Throw tomatoes, or applaud. Whatever. Elyse/aka Snow

wow, from your comments it seems you are teenage girl. hey hey now, you are danny commenting on your self. i now understand why danny is here. the largest up and coming viewer audience is teenagers, so get them to watch and increase the profitability of the show with the advertising money from commercials. no offense here, but, the young ones anymore are not as bright as many years ago. everthing they learn whether from school ar tv is very filtered to teach a numb minded simple person who craves shallow humor. what is wrong with an intelligent piont of view without a cheese ball rolling across the screen with a generic grin?

calemma may be right in saying that marketing might have something to do with Discovery's having Danny as host, but he or she is dead wrong in assessing the intelligence of young people today. I've been a teacher for thirty years, and I can assure you the students I teach today are smarter than their parents were. I taught some of them, and those I taught were smarter than their parents. Some of them were my classmates. Considering what a mess we adults have made of this world, I can understand why young people today might have reason to question OUR intelligence! Elyse, you keep watching. I agree with you that Danny is a fine host.

BTW, I'm 21. LOL! And this thread isn't about intelligence. It's about how good a host Danny is. I don't appreciate having mine called into question, but no offense taken. Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses as far as intelligence goes, and that's all there is to it. Again, getting back to Danny, he's a great host, and he makes it much easier to watch this kind of programming. Much...he needs to stick around. Elyse/aka Snow

What the heck is wrong with being a teenage girl? What, their opinions don't count? Kids today are very intelligent. Kudos to her for enjoying this tech show, and Danny...and learning from it.
Be careful, the teens today will be picking out your nursing home.
She also uses spell check.

^Nice one. LOL! That was really good. I got a kick outta that. Thanks. Now all I have to do is find out how tall Danny is (I read that he's...tall? I thought he was short, LOL), and I need to find his audition video. Any ideas? Danny rocks! Yeah! (I'm being a dork, so what?) Elyse/aka Snow

With all the mtv's, vh1's & the comedy channel etc, teeny boppers now want to make technical, informational shows another place where geeky people can get a laugh? Give us a break and go watch sponge harry, or your cartoons leave building projects to those who value the info, not those who want a hoot. And that so called teacher who seems to think adults have made a mess of the world I have a cartoon I'd like to send you. Its a picture of chicken little (Im sure you remember him teach) standing in a toilet with his hand on the flusher saying, "goodbye cruel world" as he flushes himself down the toilet. As an adult human being you can either flush yourself down the tube or join the human race and contrubute to society without your doom and gloom scenarios. Your claims about the kids being smarter is baloney, the kids are in fact dumber and less able to deal with the world without help. the teachers have dumbed our children down to the teachers levels. Children no longer excel and strive for greatness because teachers dont like to hurt the stupid childrens feelings!! That is how america is being harmed by the teachers. Even this phony Global warming scare is complete nonsense, the earth has gone through cycles of hot and cold temps due to the way it rotates on its axis in space. All planets are constantly being pulled and pushed due to the force of gravity on everything. Some years the earth presents more of its northern pole areas to the sun which make it warmer up north and as a result it melts some of the ice. Greenland was once green not ice covered long before we used fossil fuels. However as a direct result of the warmer northern poles the south poles get equally colder because it has moved out from the suns direct rays and the ice gets that much thicker in the south pole. The meteorologist who is called the father of weather forecasting says the earth has gone through these warm and cold cycles long before the industrial era. He went on to say there has been no factual science that establishes carbon caused by man could have any effect the climate. And maybe the 6 million al gore invested in a carbon offsets selling company might explain why he makes such outrageous claims about carbon causing global warming. If you are a teacher grow up and teach optimism to people not doom and gloom terrible world nonsense.

I forgot to mention people like dorky danny are the reason why our kids think its okay to be scared and wimpy today. Fear is something to be conquered not nurtured. Most humans with fears did not have anyone to show them why fear was bad for them emotionally. "A brave man dies once, A scared man dies every time he is faced with the unknown".

NotaLiberal,
I would suggest that fear is healthy, and a natural reaction to the physical world. I am not ashamed to say I have been fearful many times in my life -- and many times that fear has protected me -- more times it has saved my life.
I would suggest that humility and respect for the physical world is a much greater survival tactic that bravery.

notaliberal, obvouisly your a conservative. Judging by your post, you obviously think that there is one goal and one meaning of success in life for everyone, and you will never except the possibility that humans could be warming up the planet, so I won't even put out much argument on that, you believe what you want. I will just say that "We got fossil fuels and we are absolutly not causeing global warming, so why try to improve?" is "stupider" than "we might be causing global warming and there are many other issues with using fossil fuels, so lets try to improve, lets try new ideas." Also I would like you explain your argument for kids being stupider and no longer excelling, using history as a comparison and not steriotypes.

BTW, I like the host of the show, obviousily he probabily has never spent a day of his life on a construction site, yet he trys it anyway instead of just sticking to what he is "susposed to do." He also does just as good a job explaining things or at least letting the workers explain things as many of the more "professional" shows. And if discovery is attracting more teenagers to watch educational shows by making them more entertaining, what is wrong with that? Kids should love learning, not hate it.
