Wow. I have caught a few episodes of this show while flipping channels, and I was always intrigued by it. I thought finally there is a show on Discovery that is not about some macho guy with a gun, or some macho guy on a motorcycle, or some macho guy with tatoos.

It seems like everything on Disocovery lately is about tough guys. And here is this very idiosynchratic show about a smart, nerdy, nervous guy getting into some pretty interesting situations! And I thought, wow, how refreshing. But when you read these boards, it's clear that most of the people who watch Discovery Channel are tough guys that want to beat up Danny. Jeeeze! Why aren't you guys criticising that guy on Futureweapons, who just seems like a total jerk to me? But Danny seems like a likable guy, who is clearly from an academic background. The fact he stinks at these tasks is kind of the drama of the show, right?

I was psyched to see that Discovery was getting smarter, but it seems like a lot of you don't want that. Sigh. Please no more stupid shows about tough guys.

Here, here! I agree completely. I watched 15 seconds of Futureweapons and thought the same thing. Yet Danny seems like a fun and witty guy to hang out with. I find him extremely entertaining and I learn something about the bldg. projects of the world at the same time. Keep hammin' it up, Danny!

Here here! Friends, thank you for getting the show. Danny is awesome and he's also good at teaching this stuff in a funny way. It seems that too often people who use these sorts of posts simply want to be negative.

Danny is an excellent host! He is genuinely pleasurable with his geeky, yet sociable, approach. I particularly like the idea of him being “just a guy” and not the typically overtly intense and macho-ridden male television personality.
