...the Irwins. Giving credibility to this organization by lending the Irwins name to the vessel and skewing the commentary is the most egregious use of the network's time I've ever seen. Where's the balance? When is it OK to physically threaten another vessel/persons on the open seas. Not only won't I watch any further episodes, I'll be dropping notes to the advertisers in the series to let them know as well.

It's just sad, very sad to see the such a good network sell it's soul to go after ratings with trash like this.

I am with you. Sea Shepherd is nothing but a bunch of terrorists, and fakers. I hope the Japanese Coast guards grows a pair and uses real rifles against them next time instead of little fire crackers.
death to eco-terrorists.

Are you and Meade serious???
Sea Shepherds are not terrorists and are in no way threatening the lives on the Japanese boats. Seriously, why don't you two grow a pair and stand up for what is right in this world. Go live in Japan. Something tells me you and Meade eat meat and wear leather....do some soul searching and then come back to these message boards or even better, do some research at PETA's web site and @ seashepherd.org....geez!

I am so glad I'm not the only person whop feels this way.

I'm watching the show for the first time tonite, and I can safely say that I will NEVER watch this atrocity ever again. I don't like whaling, but Sea Shepard is nothing but an extremist group of cowards, terrorists and pirates. I love animals but I have no tolerance for eco-terrorists like Sea Shepard, and I am nothing less then appalled at Animal Planet for giving this horrible origination and shred of credibility. They have two of they're members board the Japanese ship without the Japanese's permission, then they have the nerve to accuse the Japanese of kidnapping? Sorry, it doesn't work that way. Shame on Sea Shepard, and shame on Animal Planet.

I can't speak for Meade or animematt, but YES I am proud to say that I EAT Meat, I wear my LEATHER COAT and in fact I do HUNT and Love every minute of it. But if you think for one min. that I think hunting whales is right your crazy. Whaling is not right but what the Sea Shepard is doing is illegal and definately not safe for the crew. And what exactly is PETA or seashepard.org going to help my soul with. My soul is pretty sound, you should do some searching.

Animal Planet moved down a notch in my book. I'm all for protecting whales, but the crew is a bunch of Dumb A__es. In an emergency situation the captain appears to be able to do nothing other than open his mouth and druel! And what about naming the ship "Steve Irwin"...What disrespect for him!! I cant believe Animal planet and the Irwins lent their name to this crap. Can we spell DISASTER?

Lunatic eco-terrorists like this can do nothing but hurt the movement. No wonder Greenpeace (who I had considered fairly radical) want nothing to do with them. The assinine stunt of boarding the ship was criminal, both in the execution, and the lack of thought and planning by the captain. There was no plan, the men could have been killed, and he goaded a crew member into doing it to make up for a mistake. Great leadership skills on his part. When does he serve the koolaid?

Disgraceful & sickening... While I don't support whaling, I certainly don't support piracy!

The Japanese would have been completely justified to use lethal force when the Sea Shepherd's crew began tossing unknown packages onto their deck. This wasn't a harmless protest or silly act of vandalism, they threatened the lives of the crew on the Japanese vessel.

Steve Irwin woudl have done the same thing if it was him on the ship he woudl have been the one to volunteer to go abroad the ship. I think the show rocks. If you got to spend five minutes up close and personal with a whale you would understand the sea shepherd is clearly in the right and the whaling ship is the cowards

I agree with the fact that Animal Planet is not doing the right thing with supporting this Eco terrorist crap. I do not know international law and do not think that hunting whales is right, but I also do not think that this form of attacking another ship in international water and then crying foul is wrong. Every story has two sides and the sea pirates are not being fare, but then again when has an extremist group ever seen the other side and tried to work on something the right way. Disabling a ship in open waters seems to me to be a threat against ones life, boarding a ship after making threatening advances at it, how this can NOT be considered a hostile act.

The Japanese ship needs to use their rightful force and shoot the SOBs

Actually they already killed 3 Japanese seaman. They ramed a ship several years ago that caused it to take on water in a storm. The SS were charged but after a year of lawyering the captain was able to avoid the charges. Bottom line, its untrue that the SS have never killed Japanese crew members before.

I am absolutely opposed to whale hunting, but these people are eco-terrorists. I have degrees in wildlife ecology, conservation biology and am currently in vet school. Point being, I have devoted my life to animal welfare & I am embarrassed by these fanatical, illogical people. The "Sea Shepherds" are belligerent radicals. I am sickened with their hostile tactics. The captain is an overzealous, self-righteous buffoon who should not ever be allowed to lead anyone...people like him are the reason cults exist. The worse part of this all is that these fanatics are hurting the cause much more than they will ever help it. Oh and if u are only trying to non-violently reason with the whalers, don't you think it may help to have someone that can actually speak the same language? Just an idea...
