Dear Dr. G., Have you ever diagnosed a person with CRPS as the cause of death. It gets overlooked so much as it is now no longer a syndrome, they have now found a test for it if you catch it in stage I. I have had stage II now for almost 24 years, and have been kept alive by a very wise and wonderful doctor. I have asked to be taken off all meds, unfortunately after about a year the disease came back with some of the most horrible problems anyone wouldn't wish on their worst enemy. I had 2 heart attacks, TIA's most likely, small strokes that affected my eyes, seizures that were verified by eeg, in fact even the migraines (I had ridden horses all my life and never so much as had a headache if I fell on my head going over a jump). They found the nerve that was causing the seizures, and once I went back on my medicines I was fine. What I want to know is have you ever diagnosed CRPS type II as the cause of death rather than the havoc it reaks on the body? Sincerely, Nanette
Nanette, I don't know much about your disease but from what I've read it sounds like a very difficult thing to be going through. I myself am not a doctor and this is just my opinion and it might be wrong. I know you are seeking a solid answer but I thought that I'd throw this out there as food for thought.
It sounds like the CRPS could CONTRIBUTE to the cause of death but not BE the actual cause.
Did that make any sense?
I hope that you will be able to get your symptoms under control very soon.
