To those who post here and have nothing negative to say: go find another place to spread your negativity and misery.
People here are trying to change for the better. I am over 100 pounds overweight. My diet usually consists of cookies, chips, take out, ice cream, burgers, etc.
Listening to you, I feel powerless to make a change because what you are saying is that the low carb diet is bad. IS IT ANY WORSE THAN WHAT I AM DOING?
Mind your own bloody business and go rain on your own miserable lives. Leave us alone.
Halonet, I agree that a low-carb diet is a healthy and effective way to lose weight. Not all low-carb diets are the same. I don't think Adkins is very healthy. I also don't agree with all of Blaine's suggestions. He has too many high fat options such as pork rinds and bacon. I'm on the South Beach Diet and have lost 70 pounds. It's now 1 year later and I have not gained any weight back. I highly recommend it. To start, I recommend 2 books: "The South Beach Diet" and "The Good Fats, Good Carbs Guide" (companion book to the South Beach Diet). Good Luck!
Blaine is a good Chef and I love the show (is it really cancelled?) I just started doing low carb (again). I too found success with South Beach; one can always use turkey bacon or skip the pork rind dishes if it bothers you.
