I have to disagree with this member! I enjoy Blaine's shows!! I find his recipes unusual but give me a platform to try my own versions, He is a REAL PERSON, making a REAL ATTEMPT to be healthier, CUDOOS TO HIM!!! For people who dont like the show, DONT WATCH IT, to those who do like it, ITS GREAT, good to see a real person doing real cooking!!!!
I love the shows and the low carb recipes. Blaine has given me a lot more choices and his recipes have helped me stay on track. I agree with all of the supportive comments.
I get a real kick out of this show! I am a diabetic and a follower of a slightly modified South Beach diet, with which I have lost more than 80 pounds. What this guy does is put tasty low-carb dishes out there in the real world . . . people with families who eat Mexican and go camping, for example. I can't eat all of his stuff, but the ones I've tried are TERRIFIC! The fact that he has a background in cooking shows. Make his veggie souffle and you'll know exactly what I mean. Same for the green beans on the grill with garlic and walnuts. Original, nutritious, and delicious as well. Sorry to hear he isn't making new episodes.
Try to incorporate his low carb recipes with the low glycemic ones. I bought a Glycemic Index cooking book. YOU CAN EAT BREAD! I mean not white bread but different types like sourdough, 100% stone whole wheat, rye in other words dense breads. Some of his recipes are in there. Like cauliflower mash...it's actually good!
I like Blaine and I use some of his recipes as a starting point, but LC cooking has come a long way since 2005, and it is painfully evident in watching the reruns.
If he had new shows, we'd all be learning how to work with good new flours like coconut, flax and almond instead of always soy flour, and better sugar substitutes than Splenda, which is all Blaine seems to use ( I like erythritol and Sweetzfree).
I have managed to make shockingly good LC food using the above ingredients but it would be nice to have a Blaine around to really show us how it's done instead of so much hit and miss.
I have been wondering why Blaine's shows are repeats. I am really disappointed that he will not be doing new shows. How is he doing with his weight? I think the lowest he had gotten was 60 lbs. Low carb dieting is the only successful way I have lost weight (low fat does not work for me). The only problem is I can't stay with it long term and always gain the weight back and so has everyone else I know thst lost wight on Atkins. I was wondering if that was why he wasn't doing new shows because of weight gain? It's a new year {almost) and I'm giving the low carb way another try. Sure wish Blaine was still cooking on fit tv. I never watch Fit Tv except for that show. Go going fit tv. You finally get viewers and then you cancel the main draw.
