To the producers of and families profiled in Rebuilt:
Who are you?! My three young children and I watched last night's show and were humbled, delighted and amazed. I've NEVER been inspired to give feedback on a TV show before. Thank you for broadening our minds and deepening our hearts.
I'm terrible with names, but to the beautiful woman whose husband lost his leg and arm in a tragic automobile accident ... your eyes told the deeper story of your lives. Your courage, strength and commitment reflect an unusual level of integrity. In your day-to-day life you may not feel like you're doing anything extraordinary, but you are. Your husband's determination, will and discipline are probably qualities that attracted you to him to begin with. A lesser man would have given up the fight.
To the little redhead Jessica, you have the same name as my eight-year-old. I cried when I saw how much your classmates love and stand up for you. My Jessica asked, "Where do boys like that live?" (Her male classmates are little devils). Jessica liked your self-portrait ... you are competitive!
Thank you for sharing your extraordinary lives with us. We were touched.
I just want to say to Jessica that I think she is a very very special girl. I fell in love with her immediately, and I am a 52 year old nurse with 3 grown children. I too have never written to a TV show before but her courage and her spirit touched me in such a way I just had to write and let her know just how special she is. I saw in her what Phyllis saw in her at only 1 year of age. I admire you Phyllis for what you are doing in these childrens lives. My hats off to you. I see public speaking in her life someday to help others who are less fortunate, and happy to do so. She's an amazing person. Reminds me of my granddaughter. If she reads this she can write to me.
