The show is fine, but I wish the guy who makes the legs would quite calling those who have lost a limb his patient, they are his client. When I get a new leg I am not sick I am in need of a mechanical part. Darrell
That is an age old arguement. Remember that a client is someone who receives desired services for a fee. A patient is someone who receives personal care, reguardless of money, and it's based on need.
By the way, in regards to Terminology - your "leg" is a "prosthesis". And "the guy who makes the legs" is a "Prosthetist".
This does not refer to the Terminology but the show it . I was kind of hopeing for a show that would show more of the behind the scene of prosthetics. Hopefully the show in the future will switch gears and show some normal everyday people
This is seems to be a popular subject- in the future, having a show which casts a spotlight on the "behind the scenes" activity, or everyday life of an amputee and his/her family.
Well, from a personal stand point-and haven been showcased on the show myself- I agree.
But, at the same time- the show had to include both sides of the spectrum- the technological aspect of making a prosthetic since it is the Discovery Channel and on the other hand personal stories so the show could speak and appeal to the American public.
It is the way the story rolls in television.
However, I would be interested in hearing more of your thoughts.
Could you specifiy on what you would like to see differently?
