Okay, did any other horse folk here really really want to smack the announcers for the AP SH Cup? I understand that they were trying to simplify things so that someone who has no horse experience and never heard of show jumping would be able to understand things, but sheesh, they really need to find a way to do that without turning off people who already know what's going on.
And even without being talked down to, they were obnoxiously chipper. Sheesh.
The show was a great idea, but I had to mute it during rounds because I couldn't stand the commentators. There have got to be some experienced riders who could commentate instead. I certainly can't jump Grand Prix level, but I would be glad to volunteer!
I think one of the points of the whole show was to interest non riders too. To be honest I had non riders come up to me the next day, say they had watched it and appreciated the explanations.
Hopefully, these kind of things will generate more interest among males. When you to Europe there are male riders at all levels, usually out numbering women.
It would be nice as a lower level male competitor to not be the only male at the barns I have been at or at many of the shows.
Although, to be honest I am here on this site to find out who Anna and Tim are.
I totally forgot the show was on last Wednesday (March 8th). I watched a repeat of it last night, but didn't get to see who won! I actually lived in Wellington, Fl and worked for a vet clinic there... so I have met Beazie and Margie. But if someone could please tell me who won... I would appreciate it! Thanks!
