i was wondering if anyone who has judged horses before would mind give me a few tips such as what to look for in teh horse and rider. i am not sure if i will be judging jumping or dressage but any advice would do.
thats a pretty braod question to answer short and sweet so the best advice i can give is read "Judging Hunters & Hunter Seat Equitation" by Anna Jane White-Mullen its one of the texts for my horse show management and judging class, it doesnt talk about dressage but it does have different abbreviations that judges use and a lot of pictures that are very helpful. it talks about judging for conformation classes, u/s classes, o/f classes, equitation on the flat and o/f and kinda gives you a logical way to place riders what are the largest penalties and why--- long story short, its a great book and worth the investment! good luck!
