I don't but I have a good friend that uses parelli with her horse. It's worked really well for them. They've gone from terror of ground poles and every form of jumps to doing 3'9" jumpers and still going up. Plus the horse stopped jumping the 6 foot fence around his run. So I guess it's working.

My family uses the Parelli method, and we've found it really helpful. My dad's girlfriend has a 8-9 year old Quarab mare who was just nuts when we first met her. Now, after about a year of using the parelli method, you can do a lot more things with her. Intrestingly enough though, if I try to work with my horse using the Parelli method, it hurts our relationship, and for a good month or two after, we can't work together properly. If someone else does it with her, she's fine, and i can do it fine with any of our other horses.

i think its dumb.. and not to bash anyone about it. ebcause i do belive in a bond with animals.. but it al has to do with there bodie languge and how the horses comunicate through there bodies.. but i dont like this method here is why:
when this method became populer and they had these clinics for it in the 70 and 80s my trainer when to see what it was about.. and she walked in on one of the "method trainers" beating the horse with a carit on a stick and this horse was flipping out, then she saw them give this horse 4cc of ace.(if you guys know what it is) and then when it was time to show the progress that it made sure inuff the horse was so quit and well behaved. the used force against it and then gave it drugs dahhhh. thats why i dont belive in it.. but its just my opinion on it.. but like i said i do think that there is a bond between an animal and a human that some people dont have.. then again we must remeber that winning a horses trust is imortant. but we must not forget that they are huge animals that could kill us if they wanted too. so sometimes a little force or a smak for bad behavior is needed. (but only if it needs to be used) i would never hit an animal if it wasent called for)

i know what the "carrot stick" is for.. imjust syaing before they started the clinic my trainer walked behind the closed part of the door. and saw the "perelli method trainer" beat the horse with the stick.. and then when it was time to show the people how to "use" it. he didnt beat the horse with it. he did the "perrelli method" and then the horse was fine. but i think its all a bunch of you know bull...... im just saying what my trainer saw by EXIDENT things that your not supposed to see. PLEASE READ MY COMENTS ALL THE WAY THROUGH... I KNOW WHAT THE STICK IS SUPOSED TO BE FOR.

That could just be one trainer, you get people like that in any kind of training method. I think the Parelli method is good, but not everyone who is a "trainer" for him is good, a few years ago my family had a problem with a parelli trainer and the guy threatened to shoot our horses. A while later i went to a clinic where Pat Parelli was doing it himself, and i told him about the trainer. Last I heard the trainer was having major problems in the program now. I saw Pat work and it was amazing, the horse he was working with was terrified and he got it to do some pretty amazing stuff. You can tell when a horse is frightened and not doing stuff because they want to but because they have to, and none of the horses he worked with was showing any signs of that. The method does work, but Pat can't control what his trainers do

this method is great, but there is a better one...ever heard of Alexander Nevzorov?

He's an amazing trainer/rider from Russia w/a very different view on riding/training. He uses NO aids (bits, bridles, spurs, etc.). We are beginning to use this method on our rescue (formerly abused) horses and it's working wonderfully. I urge you to check it out and tell others!
