What is up "Trading Spaces" fans?! It is me, yours truly, Scott AKA Lotus, coming at you live in front of your eyes from Woodridge Illinois, I really hope everyone enjoyed the episode this past weekend, it was as thrill to shoot the show, so if any one has any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to ask me anything. Do you wanna know how Edward REALLY is behind the camera? Do you wanna know what Faber needs to do before the day begins? I know the answers! Fire away folks!
But very quick, I would like to make mention on one part of the show, it was the bounce back, if you notice the two dogs on the bed, that was Squiggles and her brother Ozzy, I would like to take a second and dedicate this show to Ozzy, Ozzy passed away a couple weeks ago and wasn't able to be with us at the bash we had to watch this episode, so this show is dedicated to you little guy! We miss you!
Hi, Scott! I'm very sorry about Ozzy. I couldn't tell on screen - are/were they Bostons or Jack Russels? They looked very cute. I read on another thread that Edward's room looked better in person, and that Nick and Wendy really liked it. I'm glad. Edward is my favorite designer, and normally I love his stuff - this one just didn't appeal to me. I would love to hear ALL of your insights on "MY" Edward. It looked like Faber was trying to grow a moustache - was he? Did your friends have fun with Frank off camera? Who made the smock adjustments? Did they help with homework? It looked like everyone had a blast. Oh, and of course, the most important question - did you keep the chicken, and is it still on your bedroom door?
funny you ask bout the chicken because I just typed that out on the other board, and yes, its still there . My dogs are Rat terriers, and I was blessed with Ozzy for 12 years, he will eb missed but it was great to see him in the show, whatta great memory !
You want some insights to Edward? If you really really want them, here they are, Edward has to be one of the nicest guys I have ever met, to say he is a class act is not enough, Edward was simply wonderful. There was soooo much that I wish you could have seen, first off, we were shopping for over 5 hours with Edward, Kimikat and I had so much fun, Edward was cracking jokes and had some great ideas, the best part was that Edward took the time to ask our opinion and ideas, all 3 of us had imput and our ideas used in the show. Edward was at the house early and left the house late, he was a pro at everything and a great sport at my antics. The one thing I will always remember about Edward is the respect and class he treated everyone he came in contact with. Now if you wanna hear stuff about Faber, that's a different story all together! STAY TUNED!!!!

Kimi and Scott, thank you for your responses. I'm glad you kept the chicken. It was cute. But it looked like you didn't really react to it much. I couldn't tell what your puppies were because the mink was so dark. But I thought that they probably owned the bed, as most people's pets do. Scott, in case you don't know, I have a SLIGHT (translation - HUGE) crush on Edward, and I wish I had known they were in Chicago again, because I would have called in sick (cough, cough, sniffle, sniffle) and stalked the set for just a glimpse of "MY" Edward! Nothing you've said surprises me because everyone who ever worked with him has had similar stories. ****sigh**** I've also heard stories like that about Frank, and you got a glimpse of his antics. I'm not a big Faber fan, so I would definately be interested in stories about him.
I think i didnt react to it the way they thought i would was because we had to drive around for like over an hour while Wendy and Tony had their reveal and we were SO snxious to get in there ! Its just such a rush when that moment arrives, but i still laugh everytime i walk in there....really !
Ok ok, the thing about Faber, you ready??? He is one cool you know what! LOL, aw come on now, did you really think I was going to bad mouth the guy!??! Faber was awsome, a real fun time, and Kimi is right, this man worked his rear off all by himself in intense heat, he was great to work with, even though he was putting on the pressure when we were working outside, so LoTus had to take over and set things straight! He was mega cool with that and he had no idea that it was going to happen. He is just lucky that security was ready to rush the set or else I woulda slammed him through the wood! However, if you are looking for some dirt, I did use the washroom after the man, I'll let you imagination run wild on that one, I'm surprised the paint didn't peel.
LOL, LoTus! You're killing me (roflmao!) Texas: Bevington Oaks Circle, which was a repeat that reaired Saturday, a couple hours before your episode, was one where Frank bought a couple pieces of tin ceiling to decorate the doors of an armoire Faber built. To give it a petina, Faber peed on it before he left for the day on day 1. So, that's why it's so strong - he needs it to give metal a petina!
I would have LOVED to have been able to use the prankster episode on Faber and Edward, they woulda had alot of fun with it. We actually auditioned for that episode ( not knowing it was for TS ) but we were then asked to be on a regular episode and got to mess with everyone anyway !
Faber peed on it before he left for the day on day 1
Oh yeah! that sounds like something Faber would do!!!!!!!
LOL, yeah me and you Kimi woulda have done really well on that Improv show, it was kinda cool how all this came about, I found the audition for the improv show and forwarded it to Kimi, we went downtown Chicago and auditioned, it went really well, both me and Kim went on different days but they knew that we know each other so it wasn't anything shady, we got along with everyone so well that they offered us to do the real show, which I'm more happy that we did, sure it would have been fun to play pranks, but we were able to be ourselves and not worry about blowing the joke! lol, so within 3 weeks, we were shooting the show and the rest they say is history! It's funny how things work in life, if this teaches anyone anything, it's expect the unexpected!!
Kimi and Scott....loved your episode! You guys seem like so much fun. I think your room looks great and I loved what you did with your neighbors house. We are practically neighbors. I live in Schaumburg!! Sorry to hear about your dog. Take care, mustgt1
Schaumburg eh ? Wow scott lives in Streamwood, he's even a closer neighbor ! Glad you liked the show, and yes, my little Ozzy will be missed. Poor little guy lived on baby food the last 2 weeks of his life....what agony !
Yep...thats right down the street from me! So, have you kept everything the same so far! Have your neighbors kept their room the same also? Looks like you guys had a blast on the show. I would be so nervous, but you had great designers on your team. mustgt1
thank you for the kind words, doing the show was great, I can see how someone would be nervous with having cameras following you around, but it's such a rush to think about how many people are going to watching the show, something just takes over inside, there really isn't anything out there like it! We hit the jackpot with Edward, like I said in the other posts, I couldn't see us doing the room with anyone else, we all just fit together perfect.
Hey Scott...How are you ??? Scott here as well..I loved the episode..I think you are the one with the kilt and the mohawk..:-)...if this is you...Sare (producer) and I had a laugh...we just had our scout yesterday..and I asked if I need to wear a kilt and have a mohawk to get on the show...lol...she said it is the new requirement...:-)...too funny...you were a lot of fun...wish me luck...I can't wait...I am sooooo excited...
