What is the best way to become a forensic pathologist. Is there much of a difference just being a pathologist. Im a kid in Ny and i want to know what steps i would have to take because im also interested in becoming a heart surgeon.

I pose this question also. I am going to be a junior in highschool next year and i'm thinking about studying to be a F.P. or an autopsy tech. etc. I would like to know also what schooling I will need and what are the differences between you and the techs you have on hand ( pay and role-wise)
well...I am a tech....I got most my eduction from Mortuary school....working in the funeral services....I realized that funeral directing and embalming was not what I was truly interested in....it lacked that medical aspect I was seeking...pay wise....a Pathologist gets more.....a Pathologist is a Doctor....Techs are not...being a Tech....I have discovered a position known a Pathologist Assistant....PAs are not Doctors....though a large majority of their schooling is with medical students....I hope this helped with your questions.....I like forensics....but working in a hospital/teaching facility....I have truly come to appreciate disease and the disease process
I want to be a forensic Pathologist. And I learned,
1. you have to go to college 2. then med school 3. then 4-5 years of pathology 4. then 1 year in forensic Pathology 5. plus the time intering and other reqired things.
that is a LONG time. but hey I'm ready for it. It will be SOOOO worth it!!!
