I just got my Mom's autopsy/toxicology report today, & I'm confused. First, on the front page it states that the autopsy findings were 1.ligature furrow (she hung herself)& #2 basically just states she had a blood alcohol level of .16 It states on the bottom of page one that the contributory condition was from ethanol intoxication. It doesn't state that another cause was from medication abuse (which I know she did have a problem with). On the part where the it states they tested her urine, it only states: The following were indicated by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry: Caffiene, Zolpidem(Ambien), Quetiapine Metabolite(s)(Seraquil) So does this mean they did find these drugs in her urine? If so, it doesn't say how much. Also, it states they did submit a vile of her liver tissue, but then I don't see the analysis results for it. They only have analysis results for her blood, urine, & some body fluid. Thank you to anyone who can answer any of these questions for me.

Well gas chromatography-mass spectrometry is made up of two parts. The gas chromatography (GC) part separates the chemical mixture into pure chemicals and the mass spectrometer (MS) identifies and quantifies the chemicals. so if they ran that you should have probably gotten amounts of the meds in her system...I am guessing they submitted a vile of urine or blood to run this test...
