* scoffs * well thanks alot fellas, if i ever get a chance to get a free bike, i've already came up with a name for a fan bike... " The Tiger Bike " with tiger stripes on the tank and fenders.

i got everything of tiger memorbilia.. shirts, posters, bed-spread, figurines, tiger mouse-pad.. and even made a self-designed tiger halloween costume.

Free Choppers? Where do i camp out? Seriously though, how reliable are these things? I'm in college, and money is everying (that you don't have) so i'm wondering about maintenance, MPG, and over-all comfort, not to mention stowage for the 300lb Backpack-O-Death.
Also, what about preformance in bad weather? and how do I go about getting an M-class addition to my liscense without going straght to the DMV and asking them for lessons (because that's time and money that I don't have)?
Not that I wouldn't jump at the opportunity for a free set of wheels, but being an engineer puts things in a differnt perspective... (gag)

There are a couple of expenses you haven't considered kg4jev for this "free" chopper. The taxes and license fees! The winner has to pay those expenses.

People who "win" objects have to pay income taxes on the items they win. And it would do no good for the "giver" to pay the taxes because it would just add to the recepient's income.

It depends on what you want to chop. I believe they give away free onion choppers now and then. Now a tomato chopper will cost you about a buck three 80 from what I hear. But thats a real deal when you think about it... Big Grin Eek

Do you mean a chopper to chop a whopper, or a whopper-ized chopper?

How much wood could a woodchuck chuck...

I won a 2008 Harley Davidson Dyna Super Glide and had to get a loan for $4000 to get it (tax, title, license, insurance, registration, extended warranty, set up, freight, delivery and a parts). Next year I will get a W-2G for $18,000 ($11995 for the bike and the rest for custom wheels, paint job etc). So it's like making $18k and having no income tax taken out. So next year it will cost another $3300. Unfortunate thing is I'm too short and cant even ride it!

How does being an engineer put things in a different perspective?

Sell it, pay the taxes, pocket what's left. Why would you keep (or buy an extended warranty?!?!) something you can't even ride??
