Don't we pay for the buses as taxpayers?
I'm sure seatbelts are not included on the list of equipment - not even optional equipment.

We... the people...don't get anything back in return for what we do for our government. They are the ones that get all the perks. Increased pay, tax brakes, and so forth. Minimum wage hasn't risen in years, but yet, gas prices and the cost of living had risen. Why do we get the short end of the stick when we put the politicians where they're at?
---DOWN THE MAN!!!SUPPORT THE MASSES!!!---
oops. sorry. don't usually get on a rave about the gov. (in through the nose, out through the mouth, in through the nose, out through the mouth. Smile)

That's why I don't watch the news. Too depressing and aggravating. If it doesn't involve me, I don't need to know.

And yet for some reason we keep electing the a$$holes over and over and over and over again. Ex .. Ted "She Told Me She Could Swim" Kennedy. We get the government we deserve because we're the one's who put them there. How sad is that?!?!?

would any of you rather live in some other country? Speaking of gas, do you know how much it is abroad? During the crisis, it rose to $6.00 a gallon in England, I hear.

I come from a military family and have lived in many countries. I do have a preference on where I will end up in the future. Right now, I am content here, but have experienced life different from the american way.
---On the Ted Kennedy thing...got a bumper sticker that says,"Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than my gun."

"I'd rather be hunting with Cheney than riding with Ted." (I saw that as a bumber sticker 2 days after the shot by our VP.)

The bumper sticker/T shirt people have been having a field day with all of that.

No lynch, wouldn't want to live anywhere else ... but that doesn't mean we have to happy and content with the way things are. We fought a war over that idea a couple hundred years ago. It may not be perfect but it's still the best place around. If that weren't true, why do so many people want to come and live here? Smile

wanting to live here doesn't have to mean, or doesn't mean, we are happy and content with the way things are - anywhere. But, overall we've got it pretty good over here in comparison. One should count his blessings as well as his shortcomings.

I do agree that our life in America is probably the best compared to the majority of the nations/countries out there. But we do still have our downfalls. Can they be fixed? He11 yeah! We just need to put people in office who don't care what the media says and do the things that we ALL want. I vote, I make my choice, and I'm content with the outcome. Not happy, just content. The fact that I can go out and vote for who I want in office is the reason I am here.

that would be imposible. We can't all agree all at once about what we want.

Everyone should vote, I think it is our duty to be informed and then make our choices. I quit smoking cigarettes 10 years ago, you would be surprised how other pleasures are increased.. the smokin frog..

Religious practices should never be trifled with. Down here in the foothills of the everglades, we accept the right to persue happiness. Double smoke rings are so cool, all the while not wearing a helmet, hows that for staying on subject?
