Wow, I really enjoyed your show. Thanks for letting us see your jouney. You provided insite to many. I am gratful.
Well,I need to share my cancer story with you and hope you hear me. To start I lost my father to cancer January 6th 2006.(age 64) It has been the hardest things for me to deal with and some days I feel I will never heal. He was the best man! If I had the chance to tell you about his life you'ld see his beauty.
He first was diagnosed with colen cancer in April and had surgery to remove it. We thought the cancer was gone but it came back strong in only a few months. Meanwhile my brother Kevin was assisting my other brother Kurt in building his house, and he had a grand mall seizure. After tests at the hospital a brain tumor was found. In June he had his first brain sugery and in March he had his fifth.
In january of 2003 my dad found a doctor(through t.v.)that thought they could fight this battle. Based on the medical records sent to them and previous test. They proceeded to run tests of their own only to discover the cancer had (matastesized). He fought a tough battle for almost 3 years never complaining or showing pain. He was so brave and so great.
My brother, as I said continues to battle away but i feel he is at a bad point. I believe there are 3 tumors now. He hasn't been able to get any treatment lately due to another medication he was on. I am scared. Could your hospital check him out and see if he is getting all he can. I need my brother.
I hardly have any family members. My grandparents passed away when i was young. My dads brothers, sisters, and spouses all passed away except one aunt in Indiana. My mom lost her sister when she was in her 40's, and her brother who is mentally disabled has lived with my family for the last 30+ years. I am a single parent with a 14 year old. Her name is kiara. She never had her father in her life so my dad took his place. He never missed anything and she really noticed. I have 2 brothers and I am the only girl.(my mother lost a baby so they adopted me)Thats my story!!!
My dad was a great example in life and so is my brother. That is what makes no sense. I wish I was stronger cause i feel I could have accomplished more. Maybe even fought a harder fight. I was around him lots through his struggle, to bad I didn't realize how hard it really was for him.
Maybe the doctors at your hospital can at least look at his case. Maybe they have some other treatments. He has good insurance and we can get him out there. You'ld lovee him too!! I promise!! Kristi I

Kristi-

You should contact Johns Hopkins on your own. Look up the hospital on the Internet; find the doctor(s) who treat the cancer your brother has and start making calls. If your brother has insurance, and you can get him where he needs to go, you've got all the tools you need!

I'm a patient at Hopkins--and I'm not anyone special; nor did I need anyone to get my appointment for me.

You are your brother's best advocate!

Best of luck and positive thoughts to him and to you!
