I was diagnoised with Inflammatory Breast Cancer in October 2006. Things went very fast from there, to onocologist, bone scans, cat scans, muga scans, chemotherapy, surgery, and now I start radiation. I elected to have both breasts removed, although it was known that I only had cancer in one breast. I believe that the decision I made was the best one for me. Some reconstruction surgery has been started. I have had support from my family, nurses, doctors, and the entire universe has prayed for me. Through it all to this point, I have remained positive, although at many times it has been very difficult. I am living in my life, not living in my cancer, although it is now part of my life. I was very fortunate to be able to watch the program on Living with Cancer. Mr. Sievers spoke many of my very own words and thoughts. I believe that miracles happen every day, and that each one of us is a miracle. We are all connected. Thank you Mr. Koppel and Mr. Sievers for sharing the world of cancer. Page

Can I suggest that you have a genetic test done if other members of your family have a related cancer? The related cancers are ovarian cervical uterin colon and prostate cancers. The test is BRCA testing. I had it done and I am hoping the other siblings of mine get tested even if you share one relative in common it only takes one relative to pass the gene.

I am considering the genic testing for myself to see if I carry the gene. I am the only one in my family history to have cancer.
