Alright I'll admit it, I'm a nerd, a great big nerd, and I still collect comic, every week. I know almost every X-Men characters back story, and trust me that is a lot of back stories. But this is about Mythbusters and giving ideas for bits in the episodes, well my question is simple. Could Wolverine, A.K.A. James Howlett, his daughter/sister/clone (what every you what to call her) X-23, A.K.A. Laura Kinney, and Wolverine's son "Dark" Wolverine, A.K.A. Akihiro could do what they do with their claws, the reason I mentioned each of them by name is because each of them have different claw configuration which may give one an advantage over the other due to how the claws are shaped and held in the body.
Wolverine's claws have been in two primary forms over the years. The first of which is the blades, in a more circular sai like blades coming from between his knuckles, which are metal covered. Then you have the more modern configuration, which can best be described as either looking like a katana or field knife with the blade on the wrong side coming from between his fingers, instead of the back his hand and between his knuckles. Both configuration have the blades anchored in his arm with muscles and tendons in his wrist, not his arm.
X-23 has the same type of claws as those of modern Wolverine but unlike her genetic progenitor. Though she only has two claws in her hands which come from her pointer (trigger) and middle fingers and her index and pinky fingers. The last of her claws is not in her hand but in her feet, coming from between her biggest and next largest toe. The only thing with the blades is that they are just a bit more curved then Wolverine's; which are usually seen as being straight in blade type, much like a straight sword, while X-23’s claw’s have more of a soft curve like a katana blade. Both of X-23 and Wolverine's claws are the length of there forearms and in X-23's case also the length of her feet from heel to first joint of toe.
"Dark" Wolverine has three claws in his arms but they are completely different from both X-23's and Wolverine's. His claws form almost a cage like apparatus, with two blades coming from the back of his arms, just under his wrist, and then the last, which is also the middle, blade coming from the bottom of his wrist. When all three are exposed the blades point at each other, the sharp edges of the blades being on the inside of the claws, the closest connection to both X-23 and Wolverine's claws. Beyond that "Dark" Wolverine's claws have a much more bow like curve, looking almost like a saber; where as Wolverine’s look like straight swords and X-23’s look like katanas in there curves and generic shape.
They all do similar things with there claws, cut, kill, and dismember for the most part, trust me, I can give you pictures if you need them. But they also use their claws to climb up walls and slice through doors and the like. The blades are made of a mythic metal that is super strong and indestructible, but they all have bone in the center of the blades, as well as they all are all held in the bodies by the bones of either the hands, arms, or feet, as well as the muscles of the same body parts. The question is could the body even hold up to the forces that it would go through to do those things? I know anything is possible in a comic, but I'm mostly skeptical since X-23 and "Dark" Wolverine do not have bones laced with the mythic metal, unlike Wolverine. Could those metal laced bones make it that Wolverine can do things that his "offspring" could never do with their claws, or are the claw confutations of X-23 or "Dark" Wolverine give them better powers or strength over there progenitor? All in all, which one is better? Plese be X-23.
The Name is Osei(Ozzy) Kwabena(Qua-Ben-a) Brooks of Bristol England, disposed to Kissimmee Florida, and I would love to see this made inot a episode, heck i would loke to see the claws to make, not to mention have a set after the episode is made. Oh yeah the reason I ask for this is because you have already done episodes for D.C. characters, mainly Batman. That and the fact that I love Marvel.
