in the movie shrek. shrek manages to stop the dragon by placing a sword through the point where the chains intersect. is it even possible, also if not what could be used instead of a sword to make it possible?

I'm sure if you provide the Mythbusters with a dragon of the correct size, they'd be more than willing to test this for you.
