This astounding achievement in international nature photography could only be accomplished with a combination of cutting-edge technology, imaginative production tactics and good old-fashioned hard-core nature photography accomplished by the outstanding grit and patience of fantastically gifted photographers.
The VO script was succinct, well edited and blissfully sparse.
Having nailed every other aspect of the pre and post production of this amazing undertaking, why on earth did they not augment the international scope of the visuals by using world music for the score? OK, use an orchestra to glue it all together and for segments featuring areas of the globe that have no associated human culture (like the Antarctic), but using antiquated stodgy conventional western orchestral music exclusively was just too conservative.
Progressive, imaginative, dynamic visuals like these call for superior overall post-production. Playing it so safe with the music score does a tremendous disservice to the unbelievable sacrifices made by the production crew to bring these astounding images to an international audience. International audience, international images....why not international music?
