TS stated that the old gang was being brought back. Did I miss the shows with Laurie and Doug designed a room? Their faces appear in the opening but where are they? Also viewing must really have dropped off, because there use to be hundreds of indiviuals logging on to critic the rooms, the designers, you name it someone had something to say; but hardly anyone is anymore. I've said it before, if they would go back to the original format of two days, two houses, $1000, and stop with the Dr. Paige, there would be more viewers. I watched to get new ideas for my home, but now they spend so much time on the problems of the homeowners they do not show how most of the projects are done, or most of the time even show half of the things that were done in the room. At the reveal you're asking when did they do that and how did they do it. Please go back to designing rooms and maybe more viewers will return to the show. Sorry, but the show has become more of a soap opera then a design show.

I agree. I've been waiting for a show with Laurie. I've also been trying to get that old feeling back, but the shows now just seem a little sad and depressing. I guess I miss the friendly neighbors and the fun exchanges. Now the sad weekly issue takes over the whole show. The Halloween show was close to reminding me of the old TS, but everything still seems overproduced and the editing with the scene changing....I counted 28 camera shots in one scene!!! Drives me crazy!

This show is nothing as it used to be. I think it has outlived itself. It used to be about design and fun between neighbors. Now it's just stupid "conflicts" and little in the way of design. Plus Paige Davis left for "bigger and better things" which must not have materialized so they dragged her back, claiming that *she* was a designer. Now she's just a silly, giggly girl, only much older. It's not cute and bubbly any more, just annoying. I no longer watch, after years of faithful viewing.

I watch TLC and HGTV all the time, but I have to say that HGTV gets more of my time these days because they aren't constantly changing things! How many times has Trading Spaces reincarnated itself?? And there was NOTHING wrong with the original format, although my favorite format was when they added the "Two Weeks Later" portion, where people could tell their real feelings after the drama of the reveal was over. It gave us a peek into what people actually DO with a room once they've gotten the makeover.

I rarely watch the new Trading Spaces these days because I get tired of it always being a new crew. You can't develop any "relationship" with the designers and carpenters when they're always revolving in and out. And they've moved some of the best carpenters to other shows - and yet those shows have kind of faded away and they didn't bring those people back.

I think the reason why these message boards are so quiet is because nobody's watching anymore...I think Jon and Kate Plus 8 is carrying the network!

And where is the show now??? I searched the schedule, and they are running old episodes at 6:30 am. When does the new season start...if at all?
