Unless they bring back the first generation of the designers and carpenters this show is doomed to failure. I lost interest when they started introducing the newer designers and carpenters. I highly suspect that other people felt the same way and that led to the show being canceled to begin with. I've tried to watch some episodes from their last 2 attempts to bring the show back, but it just insn't the same and I don't want to watch it week after week like i did before. Until they bring the entire first generation back this show is doomed to failure.

Also a little hint to the producers. The only reason we put up with Hildi and Doug was because we had Frank, Lauri, Gen, Amy Winn, Cater, Paige, Vern,and others to temper them. You just haven't brought back enough of the first generation of the show to win fans back. Most of the designers you have on the show now are the ones that led to the shows failure. Also the budget of 1000 may have been enough at the shows begining but these days you are dreaming if you thin that is enough to make a room makeover these days.

Having Paige back has brought me back to the show. I tried to watch it when she was fired but it just wasn't the same.

I am not a big fan of the "trying to solve an issue" format but I like seeing some of the old gang back. I also like seeing Edward back. I'm a fan of Edward, so the more episodes with him the better. LOL

However, I miss a lot of the old gang that hasn't returned. I realize that a lot of them have their own shows, which I don't get to see in Canada because our HGTV doesn't offer them, but it would be nice to see if they could be talked back into guest starring.

I would love to see Amy Winn, Gen & Vern come back for an episode or two. I think Trading Spaces is going in the right direction with the re-hire of Paige...now they just need to focus on the design and not on the issues of the family.

I agree with you meltimms, if they had the old designers/carpenters return for a guest episode it would be great! Imagine the viewer turnout to see an episode with Vern, Gen and Wynn! Wow oh wow!

At least this season is spending less time focused on the family issues, it seems more light-hearted so far.

As long as Paige is on the show.....I'm a dedicated viewer!

It's true TS has not or will ever be the same without the old designers and carpenters. I doubt any of them will reappear (even beginning to wonder where Laurie is even though she's suppose to still be here!!) I only watch now because Paige is back and brings back at least a small reminder of how good this show use to be. I really miss Gen!!!!!
