Can anyone tell me when the new season begins and will there be more shows than the last time? Also are they still thinking of doing "TS with DR. Page", or are they going back to TS the design show where you trade homes and design each other's rooms for a $1000, in only two days. (No where in there does it say trade spaces and have your lifelong problems, character flaws, marriage, and phobias solved in two day and for a $1000.) It takes to must time away from showing how the designers and homeowner did the actual rooms.

I'd love to know the answer to both those questions too, Desdemona. I'm so fed up with this show. I've watched it since the beginning but they haven't done anything over the past couple of seasons but abuse their long-standing fans. I am about to clear the space on my Tivo. Does anyone know if or when it is coming back and what form it will take when it does?

New shows apparently start in October. I was hoping they would go back to the original format as well. I don't like this trying to fix relationships in 2 days. I was so excited when Paige came back and it looked like they would go back to their roots and give us the show we loved and looked forward to on Saturday nights. I don't find the new shows fun. I don't have the enthusiasum I used to. Vern Yips show try's to do the same thing and I don't watch it much.

My wife and I were talking earlier tonight how much better TV was on Saturday nights just a short time ago. It's really gone downhill.

New episodes begin September 20th. Yippee!! Does anyone know if they did-away with the Dr. Paige part? Hopefully they'll go back to the way it used to be. Smile

Umm, didn't you notice that Paige Davis DID THE COMMERCIAL for the new season? I think I would
be some indication that Paige is STILL on.
I don't think it is Paige's fault she taken on the added role of 'Dr.Paige'.It's the way the new Production Company wants it, and I am just happy the show continues to be on. That is MY opinion.

I don't think anyone is questioning whether Paige is still on the show or not, just whether or not this season will be presenting Paige with "problem" homeowners.

It looks like we're in for another season of manufactured "drama." TLC just put up the descriptions of the first few new episodes:

Sept. 20 - 10 PM ET - Mom/Daughter
Will TRADING SPACES help an uptight young mother and a free-living Grandma salvage their relationship?

Sept. 27 - 10 PM ET - Competitive Sisters
Two competitive sisters vie for their mother's attention as they give two rooms a fresh start.

Oct. 5 - 10 PM ET - Groom/Groomsmen
After a humiliating incident at their wedding, Joanne and Camilo trade spaces with bad boy groomsman Oscar to give him a chance to prove himself.

Oct. 12 - 10 PM ET - Kid in the Middle
On this episode of TRADING SPACES, a teenaged daughter tries to unite her divorced parents while assisting both teams.

Oct. 19 - 10 PM ET - Secret Crush
On this episode of TRADING SPACES, one woman admits her secret affection for a friend in hopes of transforming both their rooms and their relationship.

Kid in the Middle sounds especially horrible!

Ugh, Dr Phil does design. I like Paige but she's so cheerleader sweet it makes my teeth hurt. I don't mind her being back but the football helmet hairdo is a little hard to get used to. I hope they will incorporate some *improvements* they tried into this reformat. I liked the bonus rooms. I loved the "2 weeks later" followup. I didn't mind all the product placement of Clorox and Bounty towels even though they were blatant. LOL

Ok, it was on! In my opinion still a little overproduced but glad it's still around!!! One piece of advice for the cameraman...quit with the quick changing, jerky movements. I think it's meant to keep our attention, but to me it's hard to focus on anything!! I don't think the added "family problem" was too over the top, but Goil...sorry, he still was!

I'm glad that this "family problem" wasn't too over the top also. I'm happy it was a light hearted episode.

I agree that Paige maybe looked a touch bigger but she's so darned cute that it doesn't matter.

I am still soooooo glad that she's back!!!!!!!! Big Grin

OK so what's with all of the hating on the reconstructive trading spaces? I like the idea and it's not like the stories are unrealistic or overly dramatic. They're real lives and real people and maybe the shows actually DO help the families in some way or another. PLUS, it's entertaining, and if you dont think so, dont watch :]

By the way, pinetree22- I dont think "Kid in the Middle seems especially horrible!" was the right choice of words... watch the episode on October 11th and see if you change your mind.

I was wondering if Paige was pregnant too? Her shirt tonight was loose and baggy.

Is it a bad sign that Trading Spaces is on at 10pm (West Coast) instead of 8 or 9pm? I hope not. Frown

And Edward was on tonight...he's great!!! So is Lauren!

Well I can definitely say she did not appear pregnant when we worked with her on our episode. I thought she looked great!!!

I'm glad they're back to concentrating on the process rather than displaying the antics of the wacky HOs and designers. They lost me for a long time because it wasn't really about decorating any more.
