Ya, in fact i live in Idaho. near the boise area
ya i would think a good place to go to is in central idaho like in the Payette or the Boise or the Hells Canyon National Park areas. it can get from super cold to very hot in an instant and from desert to woodlands in that same instant. Hells canyon is the deepest CANYON-not gorge- in the United states and its sheer rocky cliffs are very hard to climb.
the national forests are woody, and the mountains, like the sawtooths or the range in the Lake Cascade area are very cold and rocky with not alot of habitation of humans

Oh My God Bear, Idaho is Beautiful! I have travelled around the Clearwater Valley, Orofino, Kamiah, Kooskia, Pierce, Weippe area. There are more Wild Animals than I have ever seen in any Zoo...Deer, Black Bear, Moose, Elk, Turkey, etc.. The Weather has always been pretty pleasant compared to some of the Icebergs that you've survived! I think you'd not only Survive but enjoy your stay!! Just a Thought!! Stay Safe!
