I would like to see a show where Bear recommends different types of outdoor gear - from clothes, to backpack, boots, etc. In the show he doesn't bring much gear. However, I would be interested in knowing what type of gear he takes on a non-survival type trip.

I would rather not see him do a Home Shopping Network type show. This would be a better post for the are where Bear answers questions.

I do know that his canteen and metal cup combo is 50 bucks so that is affordable but it's probably the only thing that is.

yes the crusader intergeral survival unit is 50$ plus shipping..
but you get the crusader cooker stove plate that you can build a pepsi can alcohol stove for that works quite well. 2.5 oz of methanol alcohol will boil 800 ml of water in 9.5 mins and run a total of 15 mins before running out.
you get crusader cup that holds 800 ml of water. stainless steel or nonstick coating optional
you get the nato issue pattern 58 plastic water bottle that hold 1 liter of water and you get the nato issue plastic cup that holds .5 liters of water. not a great deal over all.. but not bad.
you can get the US issue style that holds a little less but only costs about 15$ for the sad little cooker stand, a metal cup holding about 400 mls of water and a plastic bottle that hold i pint(or about 900 mls) of water.
the nato issue unit is better built with bigger better stronger everything.. and it weighs more also beacasue of that.
but its good enough for the US army, it will work for just about anybody..
(the NATO bottle has a bigger opening so its a little easier to fill, but thats personal preference)
i got the crusader unit for xmas and i am somewhat happy.. it is over priced. 35$ would be about right.

I bought I similar metal cup that I bought for like less that 5 bucks actually. I don't think it holds much more than a cup of water, but when I go camping I bring a pot anyway. I have a pot I bought specifically for camping, it's a normal pot, but I don't use it at home. Putting it on the fire makes it a bit less than pretty, so Katie won't let me use it on the stove anyway (like aesthetics matter that much!).
I know that there are cheaper things out there, but I just wanted to put my 2 cents in because I know how much a piece of his equipment is.

I've been wanting to see what kind of gear he accually uses to different knots he uses to carry his water bottle, not what people think, but what he accually does. Thats what myth busters did for a show once, and ever since I have wanted to see one for this show. I think its a good idea to give him a break for a week.

I second this concept.
