I'm not sure this is the place to put this, but I had an idea for a show, and was wondering 1) if anyone else thought it was a good idea and 2) if FitTV would see this and think so, too.
Would anyone else like to see a show where moms workout alongside their kids? I know it wouldn't exactly be hard-core workout, but for those of us with kids who are either just starting to get back in shape after having children or want to have fun with our kids and show them how fun excercise can be, I think it might be fun.
I'd like to see a couple of them honestly. I can find mommy andme yoga shows but they are geared to 4-9 months old, when they can support their neck but not walk. I'd like something for right after birth, maybe with someone doing modifications (like on the Gaia videos)for mothers who had third and fourth degree episiotmies and those who had c sections. Then a cardio show and a yoga show that incorporates modifications for crawlers and toddlers. Something with preschoolers around the time they get out of kindergarten would be great. And then adapt some of these shows so that there are modications shown for children to work out with their parents so that fitness can be a family affair and we can try to counteract this obesity epidemic in the next generation. I would be fine with some of these family shows being in the middle of the night becuase I have a DVR. Not everyone does though so a workout after dinner but before a child's bed time (sevenish maybe?) would be great. It's really irritating that all the shows I've seen so far are for tight, toned women with lots of energy and a clean space. How about shows for the rest of us, the starters, the ones with no equipment at home, the ones living in apartments with a hubby and two kids? While we are at it, how about a show that adapts for seniors also, like the Silver Sneakers program but on TV? We could have a Fitnes at Home show where we do curls with cans of cambells soup then progress up to half gallons of milk or something. Let's make fitness accessible to everyone.
That's a really good idea! My best friend is pregnant and i know both of us would love to work out with her kid when it grows up a little! And it would also teach children working out can be fun.
