Dear Mike and Crew, I think that the Hawaii window washing on the skyscraper was scarier than Shark Week! I was cringing and wasn't even doing it. Aside from seasickness, I have never seen you guys look that shaken up on previous shows. It was the closest I've seen to a "no go" as far as I could tell. Applause for a job well done! My 10 year old daughter and I never miss a show. Thanks for the entertaining and educational fun. I too sought out the voice from Deadliest Catch for my own reasons. Chrissy
I have to agree. Through work I spend quite a bit of time pretty high up in the air. I am amazingly impressed with the fact that Mike and his crew went over the side let alone showed the comfort they did when doing the job at four hundred feet. Even Doug showed composure as someone who was obviously not happy with heights as it would have been a mission to get him off the side further down if he had not made his decision early on.
The washing company's attitude should be mentioned as well. They obviously do not take their dangerous job for granted, which could be the most hazardous thing. Good episode all around!
Mike, you asked who the architect is for the building in Hawaii. His name is Warner Boone, he designed many of the high rise condominiums in Honolulu and Waikiki. My current business partner and I worked for him and spent many hours on the design and construction of One Waterfront Towers. Alot of work was dedicated to the design of the window washing apparatus. It needed to be practical but also "disappear" while not in use. During construction, we would head all the way up to the very top of the building to enjoy the views. Thanks for the episode, we love watching.
