This is, without a doubt, my most favorite commercial on TV right now. The best part? Stephen Hawking saying Boom-Dee-Ata. (My friends and I are all agreed on this.)
I think you guys at Discovery should make a longer version and make it available for download for die-hard fans!
This isn't a new song, but it certainly has been made popular by this commercial (it's an old song sung by the Girl Scouts)... even more awesome is the video circulating on YouTube showing Mike Rowe and other Discovery hosts (Bear Grylls, Ben Bailey, Josh Bernstein and the captains from Deadliest Catch... awesome) singing the song accompanied by a chorus of "everyday people". I assume that video is from a network meeting of some sort.
It's hard to believe that anyone would think this commercial/song is offensive, considering we get pelted with things like Clear Blue Easy claiming it's the "most technologically advanced product you'll ever pee on"! Sheesh!
Commercials. It's supposed to work like this, I guess. To get someone to watch a show that has real commercials that offer goods or services. Why have the same commercial over and over several times an hour usually at the end of another show? Almost as bad as commercials for exercise equipment(people without heads), insurance, travel service companies, you get the idea. Suggestion: Make many differant commercials that bring out the best parts of "Dirty Jobs".
