I have to say that I truly enjoy watching each episode of Dirty Jobs, but there is one person in my house who loves it more...my 4 year old son. He absolutely adores the show and watches non-stop, almost, thanks to the wonders of DVR. The other day we were at Lowe's to get some lumber for an addition to our house. We walked past a forklift and my son, out of the blue, said "Daddy, do you remember when Mike lifted the cameraman on the forklift?" Needless to say, he memorizes a lot of things that happen on the show and he frequently brings them up. Yesterday was one of those examples, and it had me in stitches when I heard what he had to say. Stephen, my son, didn't get to see the Turkey Inseminator episode until yesterday afternoon. I got a call at work from my wife to say that Stephen wanted to tell me something about the episode. Stephen gets on the phone and the first thing he says is this, "Daddy, do you know what Mike just said? He said 'dammit'." I had to stiffle a laugh momentarily while I explained that that is not something he should say. He has yet to repeat it, but I'm sure that one day it will come up again. I will admit that I believe Mike has a lifelong fan in this little boy and I'm glad that he is already showing an interest in what it means to work hard and sometimes get dirty. As a matter of fact, I think he's conducted his own Worm Digger episode in our backyard!
Great story! It's true when they say, "Kids say the darnedest things!" My two year old will say..(as well as she can) "Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe". Cracks me up every time.
