I am surprised there are no products in the Discovery Channel store (aside from DVDs) for "Dirty Jobs". I think Discovery could really clean up (pardon the pun) on merchandise for this program.
THAT is the BEST idea yet...do something with it...there is a website where you can enter ideas and win $500. Called Randonshirts.com. (out of an ad in Rolling Stone)
Im a dental hygienist and I would love to wear that shirt to work. Actually I would like one with mike on it to wear to bed. ha ha lol Ok not ha ha Im serious he's yummy!!! Janine

Holly, are you on the Tesla board with the same name ? Just curious.
Hello All! I just wondered on to this site last night when looking for information on the show. We LOVE it at our house! Anyway...I came across this T-Shirt message and I think I can help you. I think I did!
I make graphics and have quite a bit of stuff on Cafe Press, mostly for some books I'm fond of, but I thought it would be fun to make some Dirty Jobs stuff...with of course not using the copyrighted "Dirty Jobs".
I got some ideas from your post, especially from the ladies, and my dh kicked in some, and added some of my own.
FYI Discovery does not have products made. They sell the licensing rights to manufacturers and the manufacturer sells it to the Discovery store chain and who ever else is in the licensing contract. Most manufacturers will not front the fees (like $10,000 and 20% of sales) until they see a large enough viewer base. Since DJ will be starting their 3rd season I'm sure we will start seeing DJ products flood the market like American Choppers. I can't wait!
I enjoyed your ideas and came up with an idea of my own that I will put into effect this weekend. I will take the wallpaper of mike covered in soot and add text to the bottom of the photo "Who's A Dirty Boy?" and then print the photo on T-Shirt transfer paper. Iron it on to a generic black V-neck T and voila! A unique T you've made yourself.
Yay! Let's hear it for one-of-a-kind creativity! I make my own teeshirts, too. It's fun to put questions on them, like: "What time do you get up on the weekends?"--- just random questions like that will start conversations with strangers. It's a blast.
PLEASE come out with more DJ merchandise!! I know a lot of people who would love to get their hands on shirts, hats, or any other merchandise related to the show. The crew even has some DJ stickers that would be cool to get ahold of. C'mon guys, you're sittin' on a gold mine here!
you're right, holly. there is very little merchandise involving "dirty jobs". discovery's probably much too focused on promoting items from all of its other shows. i saw some dirty jobs videos on the store website, but nothing more than that. That will all change eventually. just be patient, that's all i can say for now.

I too, looked quite a while back, at the DCI store on-line, and was simply appalled that there was not a single T-shirt, sweatshirt, bib, man's boxers/briefs, or ladies lacy unmentionables, to be found, anywhere.
I was so dismayed and in shock, that I had to email a direct message to the flagship store too. Response was similar for me too.
I truly hope the big-wig, bean-counting, corp execs over there see that they could be onto something HUGE, and very profitable.
After all, who doesn't want to get down and dirty?
So, could you pretty please, DCI get your thinking caps on, and make this the year of DJ apparel.

OH YEAH!!! A nice BIG shirt with a nice BIG picture of Mike Rowe--holding up his dirty hands--with that beleagured look on his face--who can SLEEP?????
I just wanted to put my vote in. This is the best show on T.V. right now. The reason I signed on the the discovery site was to look for T-Shirts. Why no shirts there is money here!
I want a lingerie set with Mikes Dirty hand prints on the bra cups, and undies that say "Is that a geoduck in your pocket, or are you just happy sushimi?"
