Now I know there are already several topics on this, but they are all locked. I think the sadiest episode is when those 15 puppies were found in the trash and only two survived. Frown

They are almost all upsetting stories, one of mine would be either when a womans cat was taken out of the window and brutally beaten to death, or when a man on drugs beat stray dog poncho to death. Or, my eyes were really watering when I watched the beaten black cat loose use of his legs and was put to sleep, I felt so sorry for the family who had him since he was two days old. And all while I watched with my rescue kittten purring on my knee. There's really just too much sufffering to put your finger on.

they are all horrible episodes, I stopped watching for a couple of years after having several pet tragedies myself and coudn't bear to see people treating so many animals so badly.

That being said - the worst episode for me was the house full of terriers and there were grown dogs being kept in buckets so long that their legs were deformed and they were filthy matted messes.

I don't understand animal abuse...

Detroit exposing the dog fighting rings really bothered me. It is such a SICK means of entertainment.

I think that the saddest episode was when a guy hit a mini dauschund with a hammer and hit him so bad that his eye has to be removed. He said he did it because he wanted to make him tuff

I can not say what I think would be my most saddest one is. A lot of them are. But, I have to say that Annemarie Lucas woke me up.

I am bipolar, but for years, I went undiagnosed. I own 2 cats, and had two dogs. Annemarie Lucas and Animal cops woke me up to not only what I was doing to myself, but to my beloved animals. The dogs are still alive and they went to good homes.

Here's my story in a nutshell.

During the undiagnosed time in my life, I would go days on end without eating or caring for myself or, as it turned out, my animals. I didn't care, I had the means to care for them. I had food and water, but I couldn't pick myself up to make certain they were fed and had water. Really the only time they would get food and water, we had a large self waterer and (dog) self feeder, was when my boyfriend would come home off the road, on the weekends. I couldn't even keep house.

I started watching animal precinct and cops. The first Animal Cop I saw was Annemarie Lucas. I don't remember the show, it might have been the one with the mama cat and her kittens, and I believe it was a fire, or she had been set a fire. It really doesn't matter. But the episode and others woke me up. I gave up my animals, for the time being. I couldn't afford to get the treatment I needed, and although, I thought the animals would help, they didn't, and I was hurting them, and myself.

At the time I was living in Arkansas. Medical care there is not the best for those who have no insurance. I knew that if I couldn't get the treatment I needed, then there was no way I could care for my animals. I gave them to someone who could.

I now live in Iowa. Thank God they have a better health care system here. I have recieved that treatment, I have been diagnosed, and now I have to beautiful cats, whom I adore. I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world.

I thank God everyday for Animal Planet, Animal Precinct and Cops, and above all else, Annemarie Lucas. She literally saved not only my animals' lives, but my own. I wish I could send Annemarie Lucas a letter letting her know this.

Oh, and btw: My animals do have health care here, thanks to Iowa State. I would not have been able to afford it, if not.

honestly, to me all the episodes that i see are sad. it's hard to watch animals being abused or neglected on t.v. let alone in person. i work at a shelter myself and i see dogs and cats come in that are so scared that we can't even touch them. just the other day (friday) my work got in a big white dog and we had to drag her all the way back to the kennel cause she had never been on a leash before. i hate when i have to do that. it sucks. and then we have pitbulls like roxi that we have had for the last 2 months that nobody wants cause it's a pitbull and it's mean. please, i interact with her as much as i can and she is the perfect dog. i love her. but like i was saying to me all the episodes are sad but there are some good points and some good outcomes to some of the animals. lets just do what we can to save the strays and help the ones that were abused or neglected.
