Just joined the forum 'cause I had to find a way to offer my sincere thoughts and prayers to Terrie, Bindy and Bob. I think Steve was an absolute gem. No-one could evoke the enthusiasm for wildlife in a way that he could and his departure will leave a huge void. I could honestly say that my kids listened to him more than us as parents he so commanded their attention when ever he was on screen. I do sincerely send my thoughts to Terri and the kids as the void for them must be immense.

Such a sad and surreal day. Hearing the initial news and having the day unfold just seemed so weird. I feel like this is a tragedy on an enormous scale. If we think outside human terms, the effect this man had on all the fish in the sea, the animals on the land, and everything in between it is really upsetting. He continuously campaigned for the earth to its biggest threat, man, and he was very very good at it. The planet, and everything on it, is poorer for his loss.

My thoughts are with his wife and young children.
Terri, Binid & Bob, He will always be with you, always by your side, watching over you, always in your heart, May god watch over you, protect you and your children, at this sad time and always.
P.S. Keep on changing the world, doing what steve loved - protecting animals, educating people. Rolo 1234 Cheshire, England.

I can't believe he has gone. It doesn't seem true at all, i keep expecting the news to come on and show a clip of him in hospital saying he's okay.
I've been inspired by him and now it's time to put that plan into action.
RIP Steve

Terri, Bendi, and Bob...
My wife had open heart surgery not too long ago. This event affected me in a most profound way. We have 6 kids and many memories. Part of those good memories is coming home from a 6 hour work shift cooking and having a 2 hour break to rest before going to my second job to coach kids. In that 2 hour break our daily ritual was to all watch "Croc Hunter". The show made us laugh and kept my eyes wide open. We shared in amazement watching Steve risk all to to better himself, his family and the animals her cared for.
During my wife's heart operation I stumbled across her "good Bye" letter to me and read it. She wrote when the warm wind blows in my face that would be her kissing me and when I feel the warm sunshine that would be her giving me a hug.
I hope you all appreciate your love ones. For me, I am going to tell my wife how much I love her.

I was extremely shocked when I saw the words "Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin killed" on the news. I could not believe it and at first, I thought it was supposed to be a way of saying something different, I mean, he really isn't dead right? But now I know that he really did die, I'm not a part of his family nor did I know him personally but he was like a hero to me and he was one of the few people that helped me realize my love for animals. It's still hard to believe that he died, he fights crocodiles and sometimes does the craziest things, he seemed so strong, but he is a human being, not superman, although he seemed like it at times. He really made a big difference in saving many animals. As many other people on this forum say, he really was a wonderful man. The best thing we can do now is to keep in mind what Steve Irwin's tv shows were about, learning to live with animals... I better stop typing before I create a five paged essay about how wonderful Steve Irwin was...
Rest in peace Steve Irwin, the whole world will miss you greatly. Please watch over us and help us be more like you and realize the importance of many animals in this world.
