i read the book escape from tuichi - my question - if the amazon rain forest is infested with poisonous snakes how does one survive without being accidentally bit by one? if there are so many snakes in the jungle how can you not step near one and get bit?

Most snakes in the rainforest would hang around in the trees, and it's not like the snakes are looking to bite you even if they were on the ground.
