This is the first time I've watched something on Discovery that will make me be much more careful about what else I put on and subject my kids to.

We own two snakes (rosy boa and red tail boa) and I was pretty shocked and disgusted to turn on the channel just in time to see a boa being picked up in the wild, skinned, and gutted. There was no respect for the animal whatsoever - it was all done pretty jovially with a "no big deal" sense. That's very atypical of what I'm used to seeing on Discovery. Ugh. Is he incapable of bringing food with him? Or perhaps asking one of the many camera crew for something to eat if this was for food? The last thing we as a family want to see a beautiful and healthy animal in its natural environment killed and skinned unnecessarily. Visiting the beautiful forests of Belize and leaving "no trace" would have been much more appropriate for a show on this station - otherwise this should be aired on some other hunting&killing channel.

That will be the last time I ever watch this show.

[Content Edited] In the wild animals or humans will kill to stay alive! This is a survival show and he is demonstrating ways to survive! plants and animals that are edible and how to eat them.

Agreed - we watched the same show. Not something you'd see on a Steve Irwin show (or others, for that matter), that's for sure. The Discovery/Animal Planet shows usually show a caring/humane approach to any animals that are killed but this was nonchalant.

It's pretty rare that you'll see an animal out and out killed like that on Discovery (by humans, that is, rather than by animals for their survival).

mmoore0219, the animal was NOT killed for his survival! [Content Edited] You can educate people on survival without actually KILLING an animal in front of your viewers to get your point across.... [Content Edited]
