Hey...haven't gotten to actually see the episode BUT I heard this is one where Bear was dropped off by the Alaska Air Guard 210th from Kulis Air Base in Anchorage!
I know that because my son was working the flight that day....
Sorry to hear that during the episode no mention or credit was given to the 210th for flying Bear....those guys do a heck of a job up there!
When you have a chance...give a hollar and let them know you appreciated it....

By the way...would LOVE to see the "out takes" from this episode...the ones where you asked the crew from the 210th to RUN to the helicopter! Heard there were A LOT of giggles over that requests.....LOL

In Alaska Bear stole a skiff from that cannery, then pretended it was sinking, and left it. A) there had to be many plastic jugs around to take a a bailer(common sense?.. yes).. does a skiff get holes in it from paddling it through ice?.. no... basic patch kits can be put together easily from what was around that cannery anyway.. if you are stealing you may as well do it right.

TV sensationalism.. poorly done I might add.. Not at all believable.. and replace the boat?.. yea, you stole it.

This show is a joke. Please take this show off the air. I loved the fake log slip or how he over dramatizes EVERYTHING!!! With this log slip you can see him wrpping his right hand with a rope behind the rocks and grass and then begins to back out onto the log. What a joke of a show. Shame on you Discovery!!! I like the idea of the show but lets not fake it fellas.

yea, this show is a total joke. In the Alaska show where he steals the skiff, doesn't even bother to grab an empty plastic bottle for a bailer.. or a few wood wedges for plugs.. you know basic stuff. Then goes out and rams into ice and pretends the boat is sinking so he can ham it up and swim to shore was a freak show. I got my first skiff at 5 years old, and at that time had more common sense than this guy displays on this show. I imagine he has more sense, and has really good skills, but caved into the hollywierd bullcrap, and is doing some really stupid stuff. Kinda makes me sick to watch anymore.

Anyone else notice that at the location where the cave was the tree line was at about 10 feet. Then suddenly when the tide comes in switch to the shot where it's a 100 foot cliff. There wasn't really any useful info in this episode either.

Chunkbird check out the credits at the end of the show. Right after "Presenter Bear Grylls" is this:
"With thanks to 210, 212 Squaudron Alaska Air National Guard"

I also see that at the beginning of the episode while he's in their Heli Bear mentions the Alaska Air National Guard and gives them their props. But please watch it for yourself before you trust the facts on hearsay again man.

HaHaHa... "stole a skiff". Just in case you missed it, this show is about what you can possibly do or use to save yourself. The answer is you will use ANYTHING and EVERYTHING you may find.

You're telling me that when you are near death and you run across a "skiff" which could help you, and you decide... NoooOO I would rather die than to use this "skiff" without permission.. HaHa

Actually what he said was “if you are stealing you may as well do it right”

What’s your purpose here? You just pick out little bits of someone’s post and then twist it into something you can make fun of. Do you think people don’t realize you’re just attempting to be a troll? Grow up; you are the only one people here are laughing at. HaHa Roll Eyes

So..so what? steal it, borrow it, it goes without saying most will do whatever is needed when in a survival situation.

Now Jeff you on the other hand would probably wait to get permission to use that boat, course you're still carrying that pig carcass so at least you have food. HaHa
