I have been a fan of this show since the start, but in my opinion the episode crossed a line!!! I have been a hunter and a fisherman since I was young and their rules that are followed when hunting whether you're trying to survive or not. You do not kill an animal and waste it!!!!! The display bear put on when Bear left the Rain Deer meat in the water was disgraceful and dishonorable!! Bear always has a crew with him and that animal should have been recovered not left!! I can understand a person alone and an accident like that happening but this is a TV show instructing how to survive not the real scenario. With a crew on sight that animal should have been recovered and used. That animal was senselessly killed. After watching this despicable act I have lost all respect for Bear the show and the Discovery Channel.

Wow, my thoughts exactly!! I love to hunt, in fact I obsess about it. I just finished processing my moose, and I am already thinking about next year. What makes me so angry about the artic circle show was the total disregard for the animal. The killing was fine, and other than the high levels of adrenaline the thing was pumping, it would have been really good meat. It was very well bled. Then I saw the deep snow, and I knew he was going to dump the meat, just knew it. Well, here is my take on it. He is an irresponsible idiot. Had that been me, I would have either gotten across that creek, or found another way around. OR SIMPLY HAD THE CREW FLY THE MEAT OUT!!!!!!! Whatan incredible tool to dump it in the river, and walk away. He was very bold, in getting the one hind quarter, but then I saw him use maybe half a pound of it, and probably wasted that too. He needs to grow up, and leave the hollywood crap behind. I am sick, and very angry about this show, and where it is going. The alaska show was a joke as well, but at least no complete animals were wasted. I intend to look at the legality of wasting an entire reindeer. He has no idea of any code of the wild, and should be arrested, and removed from the air.
