No. It was true, though. The first season, before they re-edited all the episodes to reflect what was really going on, made it seem like he was sleeping outside every night when in fact on some nights he was staying in a lodge or base camp with the rest of the crew. Current episodes are supposed to be more truthful about what is going on, however. And so you do a see a difference now, because most episodes only show Bear staying out one night.

It was true would make the answer yes...not no. Right?

Again, the question was "does Bear stay in hotels". Anser = yes. Maybe I'm nit picking, but seeing someone answer this question with 'no' then follow up with a 'yes' just doesn't seem right to me. Could just be me.

There is a difference now, just as you stated. I think the thing we don't see is the shooting takes place over several days and Bear stays the nights in hotels/base camps then and (as you said) stays out for one night. They now only show him staying out the one night and avaid the subject of the other nights all together. They don't imply he is staying out anymore. Which is fine by me, at least their isn't all the deception. Not stating that Bear is spending nights in hotels/base camps is fine as long as they aren't hinting that he stayed out like they used to.

Why are my posts disappearing????
As I said before if Bear is only staying out one night.
that means 1 of 2 things....
1) the episodes are all shot in 1 or 2 days. NOT a week.
2) or Bear stayed in a hotel/base camp most nights during shooting.

OK...so whats your point? Are you implying that if he stays out only one Siberian nite, out of the 3 or even 4... that then invalidates everything else he is showing, or is somehow dishonest???

Unlike Les, Bear isn't willing to go further to show more realistic effects of survival such as dehydration, lack of sleep/food, cold or overheating, energy loss, dizziness, headaches, slow thought process. All the previously mentioned have a major factor in what type of measures that need to taken, or more realistically, what measures than can be physically taken or even attempted.

Off topic, as controlled as "Alaska Experiment" was, I feel it was much more realistic of survival than Bear's versions have been.

How are they lying? Your point (option 1 or 2) is moot. It's pretty obvious it's option 2. That's what happened before, and the reason for why it happened still stand. So, instead of making it seem like he stayed out for a week, they only show one night when he does actually camp out. Just because they say "a week of challenges" or somesuch doesn't imply anything.

Another typical non-point from a "critic."

I don’t know that anyone is lying anymore but, after reading many of the posts here I would say the only thing that is obvious is that many, many people do not understand how this show is made. I see posts that say he is out there the whole time, I see posts that say he needs to kill things so he and his crew have food to survive and I see posts where people say he is risking his life. None of these things are true and yet many people still believe them so to say that it is obvious that he only stays out there one night seems a little short sighted to me. If you take the time to look up the facts anyone can see how the show is made. The behind the scenes videos that discovery has shows clearly that there is a lot of effort put into making the show by a lot of people so you really can’t say they are lying about that part of it for sure but I had no clue it was done that way until I looked it up for myself. It most certainly was not made obvious by any means.

How is that NOT implying anything? saying "a week of challenges" IMPLIES! that Bear was out for a week.
