If anyone knows how to get a hold of on of these vets PLEASE let me know! I have an 8 yr old Rot mix. He's the sweetest thing and very gentle considering the 130lbs. (not fat) Anyway He has had an on and off nose bleed in rt side and rt eye has blood in it also. Both come and go, don't get bad but scares me to death! Vets in my area have bled me dry of money and am no further in helping my dog recover. No one can seem to figure out what is causing this to happen. H E L P !!!!!

Vets do not reply to this forum, it is only a place to DISCUSS the E-Vets show.

You need to seek a second opinion from a different vet because no one can diagnose your dog online.

I'm not a vet but I am a vet tech. 2 things come to mind when I read this. Sadly the first is cancer. We have a couple dogs at my clinic battling nasal tumors right now. You can try doing skull radiographs, but most of the time they are difficult to find on xray. Your best option would be an MRI. The blood in the eye is also concerning which makes me think it is more likely cancer.

Best case scenario would be a tooth root abscess. Doing dental radiographs would be able to point this out. That's how we recently confirmed that one of out patients had a tumor in her nasal passage.

I hope this helps, I'm sorry I couldn't give you better things to think about.

I understand my dog cannot be diagnosed online. just shooting for ideas and opinions. I have been to three vets in my area and no one can get it.

Did you have skull xrays done? If so then I would try the tooth root abscess. Find a vet that can do dental radio graphs. Make sure they have a dental radio graph unit and they don't try to do them with regular x rays. That never works.

Ask your vet about doing antibiotics and possibly a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory. If it is an infection it should respond to this. But then some tumors can also respond to the anti-inflammatory s.
