Hello everyone, I used to work in a hospital a long time ago and the myth is that the moon phase affects pregnant women and injuries. As ridiculous as this sounds, I would have to point out that on those certain cycles of the big cheese in the sky, our patient admittance rose higher towards the full moon phase, as did our delivery ward. So I guess my question is, does the moon affect our bodies at different cycles or is it all coincidence? sincerly, Spc. Sherrill

Again this being a very long time ago so these are all ball parks. during off phase times we could have 15-20 injuries per night, maybe 2-3 births or women in labor. Usually about 3 days out of a full moon cycle we would have between 20-25 injuries on the third day out, 25-30 injuries on the second day out, and 35+ injuries on the day of and decreasing there-after. I forgot to mention in my original post that I worked third shift and had the pleasure of admitting all these fine people. I am now currently employed in the military and would not be able to give you precise data, but I can get you as close as possible to it. http://www.stvincent.org/ourlo...ls/mercy/default.htm that being the hospital, located in my home town, not sure if they list an admittance quota, I know they cannot go deep into detail due to patient's rights, but hope this helps.
