Actually, in the old days they used sugar cast into panes. I believe modern effects experts use a form of plastic with similar properties.

from the new idiana jones movie (kingdom of the crystal skull) in the end they get trapped in the pyramid and it gets flooded. They come to a column that leads to the top the water comes in and they float safely to the top. I was wondering if that could really happen or would there be suction and convection because of the water rushing in?

Is jogging on pavement better for your knees than jogging on concrete? I don't believe it, but find many joggers here that insist in running in the road, instead of on the sidewalk!

Think of it this way. Isn't it better that folks posting ideas of this sort are doing so in this one thread, rather than starting a bunch of new ones on these topics?

I heard of a myth that a chicken with it's head cut off will run around in circles for 15 minutes before it dies

Rocks. Most of the people, not the regulars but some of the newbs on this thread, are dumber than a box of rocks.

Yes, I agree.

But, I just can't resist answering this:

Having personally cut the heads off of many, many, chickens in my time, I have never seen one run around for that length of time, usually, they just flop about until they are still.

Run for a few seconds,on occasion, yes, and I've even seen them fly for a short ways, but a matter of minutes, no, never.

I have a problem with lizards at my front door. I heard that if you put egg shells out it will repel lizards. Has anyone ever heard of this?

Yes, but the board is inundated with other stand alone stuff as well. Exploding chairs. Curving bullets. Cars run on water. Dirty underwear in trees.

SENSORY DEPRAVATION: I'm sure there is a science behind what my sister see's in her Native sweat lodge. Sort of like Altered States the movie. I'm curious as to how realistic these images are and if you really do hallucinate. I just find it fascinating.
